European DIHs Explored Digital Twin Success Stories and Forged Future Collaborations

Change2Twin hosted a pivotal networking event for Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) in Europe, which took place on 16 – 17 November 2023, in the vibrant city of Rennes, France. The event marked a significant milestone for Change2Twin, providing DIHs and European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) with an exclusive opportunity to delve into the project's outcomes. The core team, alongside stakeholders, shared success stories, presented Change2Twin tools, and imparted valuable lessons gleaned from digital twin implementations. The second day featured an insightful workshop focusing on strengthening the collaboration between local authorities and (E)DIHs. Participants engaged in discussions on replicating project results and nurturing new digital twin champions across Europe. Since its inception in 2020, Change2Twin had empowered nearly 60 manufacturing SMEs and mid-caps to create and deploy their initial digital twins, making the event a unique occasion to learn and collaborate.

Moreover, the event unfolded within the esteemed Partner Framework of the Hub, comprising SSST, where Belma Ramić Brkić, Coordinator of the its4HEALTH project, played a crucial role. This collaborative alliance seamlessly integrated exceptional research expertise, with Belma Ramić Brkić guiding the efforts at SSST. Notably, the establishment of DIH its4Health, under the EU4DigitalSME project funded jointly by the EU and BMZ, and implemented by GIZ in Bosnia and Herzegovina, sought to make substantial contributions to the digitalization, automation, and innovation ecosystem for small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.

As attendees embraced the opportunity to deepen their understanding of digital twins and discover ways to support local SMEs in their digitalization endeavors, the event served as a cornerstone for fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among European DIHs, laying the groundwork for future advancements in the realm of digital innovation.
