Sarajevo Innovation Week

Dec 8, 2023

Hackathon

On Friday at SSST was organised Hackathon that officially ended the Innovation Week project, where students presented their conceptual solutions and mobile applications they worked on for five days, which improve the system when it comes to breast cancer.

All students had five minutes to present their application, and the jury had a very difficult job because they had to choose only one team, where the teams were scored in the fields of entrepreneurship, medicine and technology.

Teams competed to create applications that provide support in early symptom recognition, therapy monitoring, and improve communication between patients, doctors and specialists. These innovative solutions open new doors in the fight against breast cancer.

The team that won the most points from all areas are students who created an application called #breastfriends. This application offered innovative solutions, but even when it comes to entrepreneurship, it proved to be a self-sustaining project.

Congratulations to the students and we want this app to really change the world and help people fighting breast cancer.

The event took place within the esteemed Partner Framework of the Hub, comprising SSST, VERLAB, IMBiH, and ISBIH. This collaborative alliance integrates exceptional research expertise, crucial at every stage of the digitalization process. The establishment of DIH its4Health, as part of the EU4DigitalSME project, funded jointly by the EU and BMZ, implemented by GIZ in Bosnia and Herzegovina, aims to contribute significantly to the digitalization, automation, and innovation ecosystem for small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.
